I’m Angelia Buckingham, but call me “Ang”! I am a lower elementary school educator and much, much more. Read below as I highlight some of my interests.
When I taught kindergarten (2024-2025), I enjoyed helping my students become good speakers. The annual Black History Project was an excellent time to focus on developing that skill. Here is an image scroll capturing my emergent learners during their first time speaking in front of the class.
Published Poet
I love to write poetry. Some of my early work has been published in a few anthologies. There was one magazine that did a feature article on my poetry writing style.
Cat lover
This is Ruby the wonder cat. She was an indoor-outdoor cat we rescued. She lived with us for 4 years.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy playing my flute(s). I started playing flute in the 5th grade. By the time I got to high school, I could play well enough to join the Michigan Lions All-State Marching Band.
Family and Vacations
Since our children are adults (oldest is our son, youngest are the identical twin girls), my husband and I enjoy taking cruises. During our last cruise (2025), I was brave enough to ride with him on the jet ski.
